Diana (roman mythology)

Diana was the goddess of the hunt and the wildlife guard.She was recognized with animals and woodland.Then she was also recognized as the goddess of the moon.
She was mentioned in many poems because of her strength, beauty and her abilities in hunting.She is equivalent to Artemis in the Greek literature.
She was adored in a festival the 12th of August.

Her twin brother was Apollo.She was the daughter of Jupiter and Latona. Jupiter made her queen of the forests .He was the one that gave her the bow and the arrows.

Our great trip

On Thursday our class was going to visit Guatavita. In the bus we where very exited for going to Guatavita, but suddenly the students where tired for being in the bus.When we arrived to Guatavita we ate something and entered to the ecological reserve where the Guatavita lake was.We where going to walk after the man that was going to guide us in the trip talked about Guatavita and the ecological reserve.

He talked about an interesting legend there in the lake.It said that in the lake was where the Muisca celebrated a ritual in which the Zipa( named "El Dorado") was covered in gold dust, going out the water.

It was very interesting.After the man talked we came outside and started to walk to the Guatavita lake. It was very cool and it was beautiful I liked it a lot.But some people didn't liked it, the thought that they walked a lot for anything just for seeing a lake.For me it was not only a lake it was something very beautiful that I can not tell you how much I liked it.

I invite you to go to Guatavita.It is very awesome. I hope that if you go, you like it the same way I liked it.

GUATAVITA is a village located by the road to "La Calera". It is a touristic place where you can find many ecological reserves.

THE SACRED LAKE OF GUATAVITA WAS THE CEREMONIAL SITE WHERE THE INDIANS WORSHIPED CHIE, THE GODDESS OF THE WATER.
GUATAVITA is a 42-year-old architectural complex created to replace the old town, which was submerged by the Tominé Reservoir, a mastery work of infrastructure that generates electric power for near by localities and a substantial amount of Bogotá's water.

It is also a stage for sports like sailing and water skiing.

The  "Bambuco National Festival".

The "Bambuco national festival" is celebrated in Huila Neiva (Colombia).

It started in honor of San Juan Bautista. He was a saint of the old Christian Europe, the Spanish brought to America.

In 1790 the governor of this providence, Mr.Lucas De Herazo ordered the convening of a special party as an act of obedience to the king of Spain. It as a feast ( a party) that lasted for 10 days in June.

ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT ACTIVITIES WAS BULLFIGHT.

Every year in the month of June the department of Huila celebrates the festivities of San Juan and San Pedro.

The municipalities of the department organize regional kingdoms combined with cultural expressions.

In these festival they dance a lot Bambuco and they do a Folklore show. Also candidates participating in the region of the whole country and the crown of his department takes the representative that best interpret the "Baile San Juanero Huilense".

The Australian Brisbane Festival

Brisbane international arts festival, has a  program of theatre, dance, music, opera, multimedia and free community events for the residents of Brisbane and it's visitors. Brisbane festival is about a lot more than just putting on shows, it encourages engagement and participation from every one in the greater community across our grate city country and the globe.

Thanksgiving Day.

Is also known as the turkey day. It is commonly celebrated on United States and Canada. It was a holiday to express how thankful you were, also to show your appreciation to God and also to share with your friends . 

Something important is that on United States is celebrated the fourth thusday of November, and in Canada is celebrated on the second Monday of October.

The Americans bealive that the first thanks giving happened in 1621, at Plymouth Plantation, in Massachusetts there are more evidences that the earlier celebrations in Canada (1578).

Charles Dickens life (1812-1870)

Charles dickens was a famous novelist. He was born on february 7 of 1812 in landport, hampshire.In 1840 he moved to london and then he moved to Chatham,were he recived some education. In 1824 at the age of 12 dickens was sent to work for some months at a blacking factory, hungerford market, London while his father Jhon was in marshalea debtor's prision.
Dickens exhibited warmth and humor and grate understanding of humanity,especially young people.Besides writing and editing, Dickens toured as a dramatic reader and busied himself with charities that included schools for poor children and a loan society to assist poor people immigrate to Australia.
His mayor works included  David  Copperfield, Oliver Twist, Grate expectations, Nicholas Nickleby, Pickwick papers, A tale of two cities, and a Christmas Carol.
